ExploringNH is excited to announce that we will provide a scholarship for a young person ages 10-16 to attend FISH CAMP at Barry Conservation Camp this summer!
Barry Conservation Camp is located in the White Mountain National Forest at the Berlin Fish Hatchery and is run by the UNH Cooperative Extension 4-H Program in cooperation with the NH Department of Fish & Game.
Fish Week will be held July 6-11, 2025 and is open to students ages 10-16 years old. Read more about camp at https://extension.unh.edu/event/2025/07/fish-camp.
We are looking for a young person who loves the outdoors (and fishing in particular) and who demonstrates responsible recreation and stewardship for natural resources.
Application Deadline: Applications must be received by 11:59pm Eastern on December 15, 2024. No exceptions will be made.
Criteria:
Student must be between the ages of 10 and 16 years old by July 6, 2025.
Applicant must have never attended Barry Conservation Camp before.
Applicant must demonstrate:
A love for the outdoors and fishing
Principles of responsible recreation (understanding how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly by being prepared, caring for the environment, etc)
Care for natural resources (participation in service projects, trail/lake cleanup activities, understand & follow rules/regulations, etc)
Be able to attend camp July 6-11, 2025.
Be a resident of New Hampshire.
Submit your application today. A winner will be selected by ENH staff and volunteers by January 3, 2025.
You may submit photos, videos, and letter(s) of recommendation to support your application.
The fine print:
The camp scholarship will be paid directly to Barry Conservation Camp for camp tuition only. Parents/guardians are required to provide transportation to/from camp. Any and all expenses above and beyond tuition (travel, optional purchases, equipment) is the responsibility of the winning family. ENH, LLC will select the scholarship recipient at our discretion.
