Guide & Trainer Certifications

ExploringNH certifies its guides and trainers to ensure they meet the expectations of our clients and the highest safety standards. Certified leaders have demonstrated strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the interpersonal skills needed to support guests in challenging situations. They also complete continuing hands-on training in critical skills and ongoing evaluations.

 

Our certified guides and trainers are active leaders in the off-road community, with prior experience in trail riding, organized off-road clubs, and land-access advocacy.

 

At a minimum, each ExploringNH certified guide or trainer has:

• Current certifications in Basic First Aid, CPR, AED, and Wilderness First Aid through the American Red Cross

• Completed on-the-job training on multiple trips or training events

• Worked with ExploringNH leadership for a minimum of one year

• Demonstrated strong field skills in vehicle handling and recovery techniques

• Trained with industry experts outside of ExploringNH to further develop relevant skills

• Passed practical evaluations conducted by ExploringNH leadership

• Consistently received positive feedback from clients

• Demonstrated principles of responsible recreation such as Tread Lightly & NH Wildly Responsible during all events
