Service Description
Based on the Red Cross Wilderness & Remote First Aid curriculum, this 1-day course teaches the basics of assessing and caring for common injury and illness when help may be several hours away. The course includes classroom instruction and hands-on scenario-based skills practice. Prerequisites: A basic CPR/AED certification is recommended prior to taking this course. If you do not have one, please sign up for the optional hybrid session prior to this course, or take a class at your convenience. This course includes hands-on practice and scenarios, including work outside. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions. Topics include: Patient Assessment Head/Brain, Neck and Spinal Injuries Heat- & Cold-Related Emergencies Allergies and Anaphylaxis Burns Bone and Joint Injuries Wounds and Bleeding Control All Participants Receive: Course Book & Waterproof Quick Reference Card ENH Sticker Light refreshments will be provided. Lunch will be available on site for a small donation (or feel free to pack your own).
